Peter Guzman is a Policy Associate for the State Board For Community & Technical Colleges (SBCTC). He provides statewide policy leadership in economic development, labor market information and apprenticeship support for the community and technical college system. Peter builds regional and statewide partnerships with key strategic industries and stakeholders with the goal of advancing educational opportunities for students that lead to family-wage jobs.
Specifically, Peter assists colleges to advance registered apprenticeship as a workforce development strategy that increases college enrollments, improves student success and develops employer skilled worker pipelines. He also manages Washington’s Centers of Excellence that work to eliminate skills gaps in key industries and, is involved in improving employer engagement strategies in partnership with the Workforce Training & Education Coordinating Board.
Peter studied Political Science at Westmont College and Law at the Santa Barbara College of Law, both in California.
Peter enjoys traveling, gardening, playing golf, fishing and Mexican food.
