Gerard Thomas is a 4th Period Laborer's Local 242 Apprentice working with Walsh Group Construction. This young leader is also the Apprentice Representative on the Steering Committee of the Regional Pre-Apprenticeship Collaborative (RPAC). Mr. Thomas is committed to building a stronger, more diverse workforce in the building trades. He believes that race and gender barriers can be broken down through hard work and open discussion. Gerard has participated on multiple workforce panels across King and Pierce Counties to promote diverse, respectful work sites and industry tips to success for women and people of color in the trades. He would like to recognize ANEW’s PACE training program, his pre-apprenticeship alma-mater and give a special shout out to the Walsh Group for supporting his dual career track as a Laborer and Workforce Development Advisor.
