Derrick Edwards is currently President and Chief Data Scientist for AGS Data Systems, a recognized leader of commercial cloud-based information management and analysis systems for the employment and training, education, and social services sectors.
As a consultant he has managed projects for organizations including 3M, IBM, Alerus, Cargill, Target, State Workforce Systems, Local Workforce Boards, non-profits, City Governments and Higher Educational Institutions. Edwards served as a UN Election Observer during Nigeria’s 2007 election.
Mr. Edwards is the originator and a Co-Principal Investigator for the State of Wisconsin University System "Bridgeway Scholars" Program, a cooperative education program between the University system and industry partners to provide curated industry-sponsored paid employment for students.
He is an active member of the University of Wisconsin System "Applied Computing Advisory Board", that provides support and advice to academic programs, assists in the development of new programs, and identifies best practice standards.
During the summer of 2018 he will serve as an instructor for the National Council for Workforce Education New Workforce Professionals Academy, lecturing on the Impact of AI and Automation on curriculum development and also on Data Sciences for the Workforce Industry.
